Prof. Dr. Damir Marjanović

Professor Damir Marjanović is currently full time professor at International Burch University, Sarajevo Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is also a full time professor at the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a visiting professor at the University of Split, Croatia and Xian China. He was a long term head of the Laboratory for forensic genetics at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Sarajevo and he is currently a scientific assistant at the Institute for Anthropological researches, Zagreb, Croatia. Between 2012-2013, he was the Minister of education and science, Canton Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was also employed as an expert in the field of forensic genetics by OSCE and EU (Kosovo), European Agency for Reconstruction (Serbia) and International Commission on Missing Persons (Bosnia and Herzegovina), but also he was working for the Institute Rudjer Bošković and Genos scientific company (Croatia). In the 2011, he was awarded as the Scientist of the Year in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His main scientific field of interest is forensic, population and molecular genetics and molecular anthropology. He published 4 books, 10 book chapters, more than 75 scientific and review articles and abstracts in CC, WOS, SCOPUS journals and total around 220 scientific papers and abstracts in other journals and scientific publications. Also, he was an invited speaker on more than 50 different international and national scientific events all over the world. He is cited more than 1270 times according to the google scholar report from June, 2018.
